Poetic lyrics, powerful melodies, and virtuosic solos: the formation 8 Octopi plays new jazz songs with contemporary sounds. The band, led by flautist Ben Zahler, presents new songs and a new vocalist, Patricija Skof. The quartet is completed by Iannis Obiols (piano) and Ilya Alabuzhev (double bass), who guarantee top-level musical interplay and deliver plenty of energy and groove. The band offers the rare combination of a singer with a jazz flute and a drumless rhythm section. 8 Octopi's songs are jazzy, the lyrics bitterly sarcastic, funny, and poetic.
