Carsten Dahl — Grace

Since 2007, with a lot of volunteer commitment and passion, Piano di Primo has been organizing jazz concerts that enable artists of national and international importance to introduce the audience to tried and tested musical specialties and novel ideas. They are organizing a few events per year in the Fachwerk building (Allschwil Local History Museum) in the middle of the idyllic village center of Allschwil, where you can spoil yourself with selected wines, a cold beer, or non-alcoholic refreshments from the bar.
Carsten Dahl is one of the most versatile and extraordinary artists on the European jazz scene. His personal style is unmistakable in all his diverse projects—from solo recordings to orchestral works, from free jazz to Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” and “The Well-Tempered Clavier.” He draws inspiration from classical music and jazz as well as from folk, world music, and contemporary music. In addition, he is deeply engaged in painting. Dahl has named his solo concert “Grace.” In his improvisations, he draws inspiration from the lightness found in Bach’s compositions. The sound is clear, harmonious, and rich—simply sublime. Dahl has mastered the art of communicating in a way that is accessible yet complex and multi-layered. This reflects his approach to his own life.
Tickets are CHF 38.
