Children’s Theater in Park im Grünen — Wizard of Oz

For the six weeks of the school holidays, the children’s theater, Theater Arlecchino, is performing the play “Zauberer vo Oz” (Wizard of Oz) at Park im Grünen.
Dorothy is swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. To return home, she follows the yellow brick road to the Emerald City, where the powerful Wizard of Oz is supposed to help her. Along the way, she meets three companions: a Scarecrow who longs for a brain, a Tin Man who hopes for a heart, and a Lion who wants to be brave. Together, they overcome adventures and dangers until they finally reach the Wizard. In the end, it turns out that the Wizard doesn't possess any real magical powers—but Dorothy's friends discover that what they were looking for is already within them. Dorothy finally finds her way back home with the help of magical shoes.
This classic story for the whole family will be presented twice daily on Sundays to Fridays (as well as Saturday, August 8) in the arena at Park im Grünen (Grün 80). The performance will last 55 minutes, without intermission, and you are free to come and go as you please. Performed in dialect, it is suitable for families with kids ages 4 and up. Shows will be cancelled in case of bad weather; confirm by checking the website after 12:00.
Admission is free and no reservation is required. There will be a collection after the show to benefit the actors.
