For the six weeks of the school holidays, the children’s theater, Theater Arlecchino, is performing the play “Ronja Räubertochter” (Ronia, the Robber’s Daughter) at the Wegmattenpark in Allschwil.
Ronja, the daughter of the robber chieftain Mattis, grows up in Mattis' castle, deep in a wild forest full of dangers and mysterious creatures. One day, Ronja meets Birk, the son of the rival robber chieftain Borka. Despite the feud between their families, the two become friends and spend a lot of time together in nature. When their fathers forbid their friendship, Ronja and Birk flee into the forest and try to survive on their own. Through this experience, they learn courage, responsibility, and solidarity. Finally, the feuding robber gangs realize that their conflict is pointless and reconcile.
This thrilling adventure about courage, freedom, and the magic of finding your own path is fun for the whole family and will be presented twice daily (except Sundays) in the Wegmattenpark in Allschwil. The performance will last 55 minutes, without intermission, and you are free to come and go as you please; suitable for families with kids ages 4 and up. Shows will be cancelled in case of bad weather; confirm by checking the website after 12:00.
Admission is free and no reservation is required/possible. There will be a collection after the show to benefit the actors.
