The market at Barfüsserplatz (which, together with the market at Münsterplatz has been voted "Best Christmas Market in Europe 2021" and second-best in 2022) is marked by the large illuminated star right at the front. It hosts hundreds of decorated Christmas trees, lights, and over 100 stands offering anything from Christmas ornaments and wooden toys to candles, hand-carved puzzles, jewelry, scarves, and many other hand-made crafts. You can also enjoy some local delicacies and warm up with a cup of mulled wine or hot cider. With an attractive range of hot drinks, a popular meeting point is the 13-meter Christmas pyramid, which is visible from afar and invites guests to stay and enjoy. Also, don’t miss the favorite tradition of making your own candle in the wooden house at the front of the market! For the youngest visitors, there will be the "Happy Garden" children's Ferris wheel.
The market closes at 20:00 on December 23.
