Classical Stars A Cappella — ”Farben” (Colors)

From December 26-28, various concerts with Europe's leading ensembles will take place for the fifth time at the Don Bosco Basel Music and Cultural Center as part of the mini-festival “Klassik Sterne A Cappella.” Between Christmas and New Year, a special world of sound is created that touches the heart and soul. Each day will feature two sets, and the first set of the evening will end with an open singing session, to which all are warmly invited. Secure your tickets and experience unforgettable musical moments in a special atmosphere.
Blindsingers is a Swiss choir that unites people with and without visual impairments. The singers from all over Switzerland primarily perform four-part pop songs. Various learning methods—from Braille and large print to audio recordings—enable all members to actively participate. Thus, the Blindsingers combine musical quality with a sense of community. At this concert, the vocal ensemble takes the audience on a journey through songs centered around the theme of colors. What does it mean to see colors? Sometimes it doesn't require vision, but rather openness, imagination, or music.
Blindsingers will be followed directly by TRËI, who will be presenting songs about professional mourners, midwives, seers, and witches—women who kept watch at the beds of the living and the dying. Poetically and powerfully, address persecution, empowerment, and femininity and honor all those who for centuries have accompanied people at the edges of life with their singing.
This concert will conclude with open singing.
Tickets for this concert are CHF 30 for adults and CHF 15 for youths up to age 18 and students. Day passes, which include both concerts on this day, are CHF 49-79 and half-price for youths and students.
