Dream Catchers Art Show at Eleven Ten Studio

What is it to catch a dream? Every night as we sleep, we all conjure fleeting images that come to us in dreams and leave us like spirits melting into thin air. We try to pin them down, make them solid, give them shape before they dissolve again. This challenge to catch a dream has recently been taken on by six artists working in the Basel area. The “Dream Catchers” exhibition collects their magnificent and multifaceted results. Captured in words, photographs, paintings, prints, sculptures, and collages, the dream world is made accessible using techniques as varied as the content of the dreams and the dreamers themselves. The six presenting artists are Kim Vergil (Canada), Megan Rodgers (USA), Yann Couëdel (France), Louis Bisaillon (Canada), Magali Ploneis (France), and Martin Kammler (Germany).
Eleven Ten Studios is hosting this group exhibit at its converted industrial gallery in the old Warteck building near Wettsteinplatz (tram 2). The artists will be present during opening hours on Fridays (13:00 -19:00), Saturdays (13:00 -19:00) and Sundays (13:00-19:00). All six artists have also donated special works of art to be included in a silent auction. Bidding closes on Saturday, 14 November at 18:00. The funds raised will go towards the sleep research being done at the Research Foundation of Klinik Arlesheim, Baselland. Additionally, on Sunday, November 8 (14:00-16:00) the artists will present their work in 15-minute talks (in English). #DreamCatchersBasel
