Frida Kahlo, the world-famous Mexican painter, was always deeply connected to the folkloric traditions of her Latin American homeland. She significantly influenced the Surrealist art movement and processed her emotions and physical pain in her artwork. The Hungarian choreographer Eva Duda, known for her experimental approach and constant search for new visual dimensions and diverse movement languages, has taken on this vibrant life with the Eva Duda Dance Company, founded in 2009. In a staged exhibition, dance sequences unfold that not only recount Kahlo's extraordinary biography but also present the art, passion, and vulnerability of a sensitive and highly complex woman. Duda's choreographic sensitivity meets the energetic creativity and contradictory inner life of this important artist.
