Back Porch Blues could best be described as backyard porch blues. It’s a laid-back, often acoustic form of blues that sounds cozy and relaxed, just as you’d play it on a porch. The focus is on great melodies and soulful solos that can be played without a lot of gear—a rustic, simple, accessible style rooted in country blues.
The line-up for this evening include Nick Moss, perhaps the most exciting exponent of Chicago blues today, who integrates the diverse American blues styles into his music. Joining him is Willy Jordan, an American blues musician, singer, and drummer known for his soul-inspired sound, which honors both traditional blues roots and embraces a modern approach. Also on stage will be Andrew Duncanson, one of the most impressive singers in contemporary blues and soul, as well as multi-instrumentalist Bob Welsh, who plays guitar and piano brilliantly.
