Located in Rust, Germany, about 75 minutes from Basel, Europa-Park is a huge amusement park with many rides, roller coasters, shows, themed hotels, a giant waterpark, and countless restaurants suitable for the whole family. With over 180,000 colorful pumpkins, tons of apples, 100,000 autumnal flowers, 15,000 chrysanthemums, 3,000 bales of straw, 6,000 corn plants, spider-trees, and ghostly illuminations, the decorations are outstanding! There will be many pumpkin trolls in the Grimms’ Enchanted Forest waiting to be discovered by the youngest visitors. Families should visit the Spooky Kids Village, where kids can get Halloween hairstyles. The children's labyrinth Spooky Steps ensure fantastic spooky fun for the younger visitors.
Some of the rides have also turned “Halloween”—flashes and eerie music turn the coffee cups in the Dutch themed area into the “Griezelkopjes.” In the Spanish themed area, “Feria Swing—Flight of the Vampires” offers a very special ride experience during Halloween. And for the bravest visitors, the day maze “Niflheim” is a ghost house that promises to scare even the coolest of visitors!
Be sure to catch the special shows that only happen during autumn, like the ice show “Surpr'Ice with the Celtic Shadows.” Let the eerie creatures of “Ed's Halloween Parade” delight the whole family in spooky fun, or get some additional spooks at the new shows “Darkness” and “Checkmate.” The fountain and laser show “Hellfire Fountains” on the lake between Josefina's Magical Imperial Journey and Grimm's Enchanted Forest is an eerily beautiful highlight not to be missed!
Tickets to the park, which include all attractions and shows, are €55-62 for adults, € 47-53.50 for kids ages 4-11, free for kids under age 4 or for kids on their birthday (up to age 12). Purchase them in advance online, or pay an additional € 6 at the door, if available.
