Happy Birthday, Collegium Musicum Basel

The Collegium Musicum Basel is turning 75! At the same time, their president is retiring after 20 years. To mark this anniversary, the audience can look forward to a festive evening with Dvořák's Cello Concerto, a musical surprise, and special guests from politics and culture. Dvořák long resisted writing a cello concerto. When he finally did, he created a masterpiece: The B minor Concerto is one of the most famous opening pieces in orchestral literature. The German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, who has already recorded the concerto with the NDR Symphony Orchestra, will be the soloist, bringing the work to life with great sensitivity and expressiveness. Help them celebrate this special occasion!
At the pre-concert at 18:15, the flutes of the Flautastico ensemble take on the role of symphonic instruments. Using contrabass, bass, alto, C, and piccolo flutes, the approximately 40 flutists present orchestral pieces in a clever and enchanting way. Attendance at the pre-concerts is free.
Tickets for the main concert are CHF 49-89.
