Industrienacht Regio Basel (Basel’s Industry Night)

The Industrienacht Regio Basel (Basel’s Industry Night), which will be taking place for the second time, aims to open up new perspectives on the fascinating world of work in the Basel region. This is one of the most dynamic economic regions in Switzerland with numerous start-ups, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large global corporations.
Almost 50 companies from Basel to Reinach and from Allschwil via the Basel port to Muttenz will be opening their doors. With about 160 adventures, visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities. In addition to impressive guided tours through working environments, the program includes playful workshops, insights into corporate cultures, informative lectures, and the opportunity to exchange information with employees in a low-threshold manner.
One of the highlights are the guided tours to places that are otherwise closed to the public—for example, Endress+Hauser's production facility, SBB’s service center, or Swisscom's Internet backbone. Also worthwhile are the tours of the Axians security operations center, the Weleda garden, and the Roche research center. A journey for the palate awaits you at the Birtel brewery, the Sutter Begg bakery, or the Ricola confectionery cookery show. Meanwhile, Medartis and Straumann offer insights into the manufacture of implants, IWB into the region's energy supply, Exhibition and Congress Center into its event world, and Theater Basel into the construction of its stage sets. The concept of the circular economy becomes tangible in Lottner's factory halls, artificial intelligence in diagnostics at Stücki Park, and the potential of quantum computers at QuantumBasel. Finally, at Blaser Architekten, you can learn how space is created, who is involved, and how it shapes your life.
At many locations, visitors can directly try their hands—for example as a baker, at the wheel of an excavator, or in a racing simulator. At Industry Night, you can participate in assembling control cabinets, welding and laying pipes, designing mouthwash cups, modelling playgrounds, printing T-shirts, wrapping handmade pastries, making candles, soldering games, and programming robots. In addition, employees also provide straightforward information about career opportunities at their company. Industry Night is a great opportunity for young people to experience the regional labor market and discover their own interests.
