The Industrienacht Regio Basel (Basel’s Industry Night), which will be taking place for the second time, aims to open up new perspectives on the fascinating world of work in the Basel region. This is one of the most dynamic economic regions in Switzerland with numerous start-ups, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large global corporations.
Over 50 companies from Basel to Reinach and from Allschwil via the Basel port to Muttenz will be opening their doors. With over 200 adventures, visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities. In addition to impressive guided tours through working environments, the program includes playful workshops, insights into corporate cultures, informative lectures, and the opportunity to exchange information with employees in a low-threshold manner.
Visitors can explore the inner workings of a gravel plant (KIBAG) or pumping station (IWB), experience energy transition (ETAVIS) and circular economy (Lottner), immerse themselves in virtual working environments (SKAN), discover the latest technologies (Selmoni), or test their own senses against state-of-the-art sensors (Endress+Hauser). You can also try your hand at many locations, for example as a baker (Bäckerei KULT, Sutter Begg), programmer (Actemium, JETZ), excavator driver (Ultra-Brag), or lorry driver (Felix Transport).
Various tours also promise exclusive insights, for example through carpentry workshops (Tschudin, Voellmy), container terminals (Contargo), the BVB service center, the Birtel brewery, or the companies that have earned Basel the reputation of a world-leading life sciences cluster (including Bayer, Medartis, Novartis, Roche). There will also be an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at various sites in the region, including Dreispitz, Stücki Park, and the Franck Areal.
Check the website to view the full program of the over 200 different offers. You will be able to individually filter and compile your program according to interest, language, and format. Create your own list of favorites with a personal route that can then be shared with friends and printed out at home. Would you like to take part in a workshop, a guided tour or a talk? Or would you prefer to explore the companies at your own pace in exhibitions, films or at information stands? You decide!
This event is for everyone—for youths looking for insights into potential career paths, for adults looking for a new field or challenge, for family with kids that want to learn about how things work, or for the simply curious! Many of the offers are language independent or are also available in English and/or French!
Tickets cost CHF 10 for adults; free for those under age 12 or for holders of the Colourkey. With an Industrienacht ticket (wristband) or ticket voucher, travel by public transport (TNW) is free from 16:00 onwards. Similar to Museumsnacht, there will be free shuttle buses to take you from one location to another (from 18:00 onwards), as well as a free shuttle boat from 17:30 onward. So to maximize your benefit, buy your ticket in advance at https://eventfrog.ch/en/p/miscellaneous/industrienacht-regio-basel-2024-7034880539677862049.html.
