The first Industrienacht Regio Basel (Basel’s Industry Night) aims to open up new perspectives on the fascinating world of work in the Basel region. This is one of the most dynamic economic regions in Switzerland with numerous start-ups, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large global corporations.
Forty-four companies from Basel to Reinach and from Allschwil via the Basel port to Muttenz are taking part in this event, opening their doors from 17:00 to midnight. With around 160 adventures, visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities. In addition to impressive guided tours through working environments, the program includes playful workshops, insights into corporate cultures, informative lectures, and the opportunity to exchange information with employees in a low-threshold manner.
By taking a look behind the scenes, visitors can get a taste of the startup spirit in the Tech Park, Smart City Lab, and Business Parc or can learn about how fine coffee is made from beans and beautiful furniture from wood. Discover how strongly the life sciences and the MEM industry of the region are networked globally through the ports, at companies such as Ultra-Brag, Endress+Hauser, Neoperl, Straumann, or in the Novartis pavilion. Experience how modern workplaces are being developed on brownfield sites with a visit to uptownBasel or KLYBEQ, among others.
A variety of interesting and fun hands-on workshops are also on the program for young and old. For example, you can learn to program a robot (Actemium), put gearboxes through their paces (Alfred Imhof), make electric switches with lamps (Etavis), build a birdhouse (Jobfactory), or aid in the production of pizza ingredients (Vito). If you have ever wanted to sit in the driver's seat of a truck, you will have the opportunity at Felix Transport, and if you prefer to steer a ship, you can practice in the harbor museum on the ship handling simulator.
Check the website to view the full program with around 160 different offers. Here you will be able to individually filter and compile activities according to interest, language, and format. Create your own list of favorites with a personal route that can then be shared with friends and printed out at home.
There is also a handy and clear program booklet where you can see everything at a glanceit contains brief descriptions of the companies' programs and even provides an overview of the shuttle lines. The program booklet is available from the Kulturbox offices, from all participating companies, and at the box offices.
Tickets cost CHF 10 for adults; free for those under age 12 or for holders of the Colourkey. With an Industrienacht ticket (ticket voucher or ticket Bändel), travel by public transport (TNW) is free from 16:00 onwards. Therefore, it is advantageous to buy your ticket in advance through Eventfrog at https://eventfrog.ch/de/p/diverses/industrienacht-regio-basel-2022-6854026325947559433.html
