Irish Music Session Basel 2026

Let yourself be swept away by the rhythm of the Emerald Isle! At the Irish Music Session, you can expect much more than just an ordinary concert at Kulturhuus Häbse. It's an invitation to a journey through the soul of Ireland—intense, moving, and brimming with joie de vivre. At the exclusive concert experience with a Guinness vibe, you will find an atmosphere that touches your soul. The Irish Music Session Basel brings Ireland's finest musicians to Basel in an intimate setting to bring the authentic power of Irish sounds to life on two evenings (October 8 and 9), each with a top-class line-up reflecting the diversity of the Irish scene.
On this evening, Naniken, George Murphy and The Rising Sons, and special guest Pearse Larkin will take the stage.
Naniken represents Irish folk music in its purest form. The band eschews unnecessary showmanship, focusing instead on virtuoso musicianship in an intimate concert setting. With a blend of handcrafted rhythms and traditional melodies, they create a bridge between profound melancholy and exhilarating energy. They are a must-see for anyone who appreciates honest, handcrafted music.
George Murphy and The Rising Sons are the powerhouse of modern Irish folk. When Murphy takes the stage, you hear the echoes of the great Irish legends. With a voice reminiscent of Luke Kelly 's intensity, he captures the deep melancholy and unvarnished history of the Emerald Isle. Together with the Rising Sons, he brings an authenticity to Basel that you'd otherwise only find in Dublin's most traditional pubs, creating an honest, earthy musical experience that touches the soul. Get ready for an electrifying energy that will have everyone on their feet!
Pearse Larkin, a rising star of the Irish music scene, will be a special guest in Basel. He represents the next generation of musicians who carry on Ireland's rich cultural heritage with fresh energy and youthful charm. His performance adds another dimension to the evening and demonstrates that the traditional music of the Emerald Isle is more vibrant than ever.
Tickets are CHF 85 for a day pass or CHF 160 for both October 8 and 9.
