“Jazz uf em Platz” is the annual jazz festival in the center of Muttenz. The festival, which started out as a one-time event in 1985 to fill a deficit in the sports club’s coffers, was so popular that it turned into a favorite annual event that attracts more than 5,000 visitors. Whether you are young or old, jazz fan or jazz novice—the diverse music program will have something to appeal to everyone. This year's 37th edition will transform the Muttenz village center into a small "New Orleans" with their bands! From about 17:30 onwards, there will be non-stop high-caliber jazz, boogie-woogie, blues, and funk played by international musicians at two separate venues in Muttenz: the village center (Kirchplatz) with two stages (Bühne Kirche and Bühne Gemeindehaus) and the Mittenza Parkplatz, where several bands will be playing back-to-back. The backdrop of the historic Muttenz village and church of St. Arbogast makes the "Jazz uf em Platz" not just a concert for jazz enthusiasts, but also an atmospheric festival and meeting place. Delicacies from Muttenz and the region will be offered at the festival, which can easily be reached by public transport by taking the train to Muttenz train station or Tram 14 or Bus 60 to the Muttenz Dorf stop.
