Joe Lovano & Antonio Faraò “Explorations”

Volkshaus Basel
Monday, 29 June
20:15

Sonny Rollins' "Saxophone Colossus" (1956) is considered a milestone in jazz history. Together with John Coltrane, Rollins shaped modern jazz from the mid-1950s onward like few others. Works such as "Tenor Madness," "Blue Train," and "Kind of Blue" remain part of the jazz canon to this day. In 2026, the jazz world will celebrate 100 years of Miles Davis and 100 years of John Coltrane. Offbeat is taking this opportunity to pay special attention to the great saxophone tradition of jazz. This legacy is embodied by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Joe Lovano (*1952), professor at Berklee College of Music and one of the most influential jazz musicians of our time.
Tickets are CHF 48.40-90.90.
