"Kazdoura" means "walking" in Levantine Arabic. A concert by this duo feels like a stroll amidst psychedelic elements, traditional Arabic music, funk, jazz fusion, and a thick layer of vintage sounds. Singer Leen Hamo is originally from Syria;bandmate and multi-instrumentalist John Abou Chacra from Lebanon, but the duo met in Toronto, Canada. Kazdoura is more than just a band—they are a cultural bridge, an invitation to a "walk" between worlds. Their music honors the deep roots of Middle Eastern traditions while simultaneously celebrating the freedom of modern experimentation. It is characterized by velvety vocals and smooth harmonies, light-footed yet weighty. They are currently working on their second album, further developing their distinctive sound and expanding their presence on the international stage. As part of their European tour, they are now stopping by the Kuppel.
