The Martinu Festtage in Basel is an annual festival honoring the Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů (1890–1959), who died in Liestal. Since 1995, the festival has presented a diverse program that includes not only classical concerts but also contemporary music, jazz, films, dance performances, and family concerts. It is known for its meticulous programming and first-rate artists. This year, the festival, which is regarded by the media as “the smallest but finest of its kind,” will include three concerts, a puppet opera, and one film.
In this last concert of this year’s Martinů Festival, the Pražák Quartet and Amihai Grosz, principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic, play works by Mozart, Martinů, and Morricone.
Tickets are CHF 35 for adults and CHF 10 for youths and students.
