Merian Gärten — Tag der Natur (Nature Day)
In cooperation with the Natural History Museum Basel, the Merian Gärten is inviting the public for 24 hours of nature topics, where you can peek over the shoulders of scientists who will investigate which wild animals, plants, fungi, and lichens live in the Merian Gardens. The first event in 2017 was incredibly exciting, and now you can look forward to the second round!
The varied program around the Lehmhaus (clay house) includes live research, children’s rally, observation posts, a campfire kitchen on Saturday, a safari breakfast on Sunday, and a summer bar by Birtel over the 24 hours. There will be short tours on both days on select topics, including various insects, aquatic organisms, amphibians, birds, plants, spiders, bees, butterflies, dragonflies, and much more. Visit their website for a full program.
Admission is free but donations are welcome.
