Mondrian Ensemble — Concert & 25th Anniversary Celebration

Kulturkirche Paulus
Saturday, 06 June
18:30-21:30

For 25 years, the Mondrian Ensemble has been known for creating cross-connections between different musical eras in its programs and for continuously maintaining an exchange with contemporary musicians. The program for the 25th anniversary is designed entirely in this spirit. Here, old meets new, and short pieces meet longer works. Furthermore, there will be a celebration—during the breaks between the three concert sections, they invite the audience to enjoy food and drinks and look forward to stimulating conversations.
The first part presents Ludwig van Beethoven’s Trio in G major, op. 9/1. The second part features eleven miniatures composed specifically for this anniversary program by eleven composers with whom the ensemble has had long-standing collaborations. The program concludes with the nearly 50-minute string trio by Aargau composer Jürg Frey, with whom the ensemble has collaborated on several occasions. This collaboration resulted in the piano quartet "Architektur der Empfindungen" (Architecture of Sensations) in 2014 and the recording of "Extended Circular Music" for Musiques Suisses in the same year.
Tickets are CHF 30-40 for adults and CHF 10 for youths and students.
