In cities all over Switzerland, the charitable organization Caritas is organizing a candle-lighting ceremony called “Eine Million Sterne.” In Basel, this will take place at Marktplatz, starting at 16:00. Thousands of candles will be lit, and donations to help any of Caritas’ numerous causes will be accepted (voluntary). This is a beautiful sight to see, especially as night sets in!
