In cities all over Switzerland, the charitable organization Caritas is organizing a candle-lighting ceremony called “Eine Million Sterne.” In Basel, this event this year will take place at Münsterplatz, starting at 17:15. Thousands of candles will be lit, and donations to help any of Caritas’ numerous causes will be accepted (voluntary). This is a beautiful sight to see, especially as night sets in!
