Over 100 vintners from the German-speaking region of Switzerland are inviting all wine lovers to their “Offene Weinkeller Deutschschweiz 2023” (Open wine cellars of German-speaking Switzerland). On this weekend, most wine cellars that belong to the “Branchenverband Deutschschweizer Wein” (association of the wine industry in German-speaking Switzerland) are opening their doors to give visitors a real “taste” of their wines—including walking tours through the vineyard, cellar tours for a glimpse into the fascinating world of winemaking, and of course, wine tastings. For a complete list of participating wine cellars, visit their website and select your region of interest (there are 10 participating winemakers in Basel-Stadt and Baselland alone), and select the activity of interest under “Angebote”; note that orders of over CHF 200 will be delivered to your home free of charge.
