Founded in 2020, the "Oper Riehen" association has established itself as a regional alternative to the major opera houses and regularly develops a comprehensive musical project, ensuring sophisticated performances of the highest artistic standard and focusing on proximity to the audience.
Through the involvement of local choir singers, the professional artistic direction of Olga Pavlu, and the collaboration with professional musicians from all over Switzerland, the association makes a significant contribution to the cultural diversity of the canton of Basel-Stadt and the municipality of Riehen.
On this Saturday evening, the Oper Riehen presents a brilliant festival that will be a cross-section of French and Italian opera, in the Reithalle in Wenkenpark in Riehen. Among the invited guests you will find Otello, Faust, Don Carlos, Mephisto, Carmen, Romeo & Juliet, Olympia, Princess Eboli, and other famous characters. A glass of finely sparkling vino spumeggiante from Riehen will also be provided.
Tickets are CHF 45-55 for adults and CHF 30 for youths up to age 25.
