They are two superstars of European jazz, omnipresent for 35 years: Paolo Fresu from Sardinia and Lars Danielsson from Sweden. They finally came together in 2016 for the “Summerwind” project. Some people communicate a lot, while others reduce it to the essentials and get straight to the point with just a few words. It's the same in music. With Danielsson and Fresu, two musicians have joined forces who choose their notes with care: On "Summerwind," the Swedish master of harmonious sound on bass and cello, with his fine sense for melodies that are as simple as they are haunting, meets one of Europe's most lyrical trumpeters, whose luminous, airy tones lend a unique expressiveness to their "cool playing." Together, they create atmospheric and richly colored soundscapes imbued with feeling and depth. In short, dreamlike music in a dreamlike interplay. The duo format offers a great deal of freedom and scope for musical development. But for the two protagonists, it's not about playing a lot, but what they play. Here, the space isn't filled with numerous notes, but rather with the effect of just a few. This creates poetry on two instruments, with an almost meditative quality.
Tickets are CHF 39.80-90.90.
