Piano Evening

Urban Waltenspül will perform at the Offene Kirche Elisabethen for the ninth time this year on his birthday. The program will feature his own compositions from his broad repertoire, ranging from ballads and boogies to jazz and tango. He has never written down any of his 40 pieces. He says they are stored deep within his body, mind, and soul, like on an internal hard drive, and his interpretation has steadily evolved over the years. Ideas for his compositions come to him from everywhere. He shares stories about these ideas and his life, connecting them to his diverse music, such as how a 7/4 rhythm came about, which he uses in two of his compositions. He previously recorded a CD with 18 compositions in 2013. Come for an inspiring piano evening; apéro will be offered after the concert.
Admission is free, donations are welcome.
