The Riverside Aarburg music festival is a three-day open-air festival featuring a great lineup of bands, including Within Temptation, Frog Leap, Alestorm, Billy Alibi, Suitcase Memory, The Crumpets, D-Fender, Krokus, Gotthard, The Dead South, D’Or, Kissin’ Black, Wakeupcall, Dekadenza, Marije, Black Backed Jekyll, Dirkschnieder, AMH, Velvet Rush, Gross in Japan, Ibridoma, and Obsydiant.
You can purchase 1-day passes that are valid for all concerts on that day (starting at CHF 112.50), 2-day passes (starting at CHF 169.50), or 3-day passes (starting at CHF 209.50). Onsite camping is also available for CHF 26.20 per person for the duration of the festival. Children under age 12 have free entry (ID required) in the standing area when accompanied by their legal guardian.
The Riverside Aarburg concert tickets also include free entrance to the nearby Route 66 festival—the biggest vintage car and rock’n’roll festival in Switzerland (https://www.route66aarburg.com/).
The festival grounds are 40 minutes from Basel by car; simply follow the signs “Festival Besucher” (festival visitors) shortly after you exit the motorway; parking cost is an extra CHF 11.30.
