On this special day, the whole family can experience the world of the Romans at the Roman ruins of Vindonissa. There will be chariot races and dramatic gladiator battles in the historical setting of the amphitheater at Windisch. You can also learn about the diversity of Roman everyday life: Take a look at the camp site of the Roman legionnaires or try your hand as a stone mason or cobbler. Children can get trained as gladiators (from age 8), and there are free visits to and tours of the Legionärspfad (legionnaires' trail) Vindonissa in Windisch or the Vindonissa museum in Brugg. Partner institutions from all across Switzerland offer insights into current research and offer diverse activities for children.
It is recommended to arrive by public transport; there are not parking areas by the amphitheater.
Tickets are CHF 15 for adults and CHF 10 for kids ages 6-16; family tickets for one or two adults with up to five children are CHF 22 or CHF 35, respectively. Tickets include all offers on this day at the amphitheater and the circus grounds in Windisch, as well as entrance to the legionnaires' trail and the Vindonissa Museum.
