On the Saturday and Sunday after Ascension (May 31 and June 1) Switzerland's historic mills will open their doors.
The mill in the Merian Gärten will participate on Saturday, May 31, with a varied program for families, mill enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys historic technology. There will be clattering, rattling, and whirring, because they are setting the mill in motion! This year's Mill Day at the Merian Gärten is all about water with a program designed for families and mill fans.
This event is free.
Switzerland-wide there are about 200 mills at about 134 sites that you can visit on this weekend and sometimes throughout the milling season.
