For three days, Rebgasse will be transformed into an art mile, curated by the local Basel Art Center. Around 15 to 20 owner-run businesses—including bookstores, craft workshops, fitness centers, designer fashion stores, as well as religious and social institutions—will open their doors and stage their premises as temporary exhibition spaces. These include the chic fashion and accessories store Objet Fier, the Müller Palermo bookstore, the Michael Stutz jewelry store, the Aurum Fitness Center, the Q-Media print shop, as well as the UNIA trade union building, the Clara Church, and the Basel Art Center itself. In cooperation with galleries from Basel and neighboring countries, they will present a carefully curated selection of high-quality works of art. The galleries and their artists are invited to work with their respective owners to develop a concept tailored to their location and available spaces. This will create a diverse, site-specific offering for art lovers, collectors, residents, and anyone who is curious.
The fair will begin with a public vernissage at the Basel Art Center (Rebgasse 31, 4th floor) on Thursday, September 25, starting at 18:00. During the Selection Art Fair, several side events will also take place in and around the Rebgasse including concerts, exhibits, tours, readings, film screenings, performances, and lectures. Visit the information tent at Claraplatz from 11:00-18:00 to learn more about what/where/when things are happening.
