Stimmen Festival — Camerata Vocale Freiburg

The Stimmen (Voices) music festival has become the largest music event on the Upper Rhine, attracting an impressive array of international stars, soloists, and choirs, providing magical moments and musical experiences for young and old. From June 18 to July 11 this year, the festival will play a homage to the power and beauty of the human voice at various special venues in neighboring Germany.
The Camerata Vocale Freiburg has been one of Germany's most distinguished chamber choirs for decades. Founded in 1977 and under the direction of Winfried Toll since 1988, the ensemble stands for the highest vocal precision, sonic transparency, and an exceptional stylistic range. In the summer of 2026, the Camerata Vocale Freiburg presents a demanding a cappella program that blends different eras, musical languages, and forms of expression. Works by Johannes Brahms and Maurice Ravel, among others, meet music by Edward Elgar, as well as contemporary pieces. The evening thrives on the interplay between sonic density and subtle restraint, between romantic warmth, impressionistic color, and modern clarity. The Camerata Vocale Freiburg showcases its hallmarks: a homogeneous, transparent choral sound, exceptional textual intelligibility, and an interpretative depth that transcends mere perfection.
Tickets are € 31.
