The Swiss Mariners Fife & Drum Corps Basel was founded in 1970 as a sister corps of the Ancient Mariners of Connecticut, United States. They were thus the first Swiss corps dedicated to American fifes and drums. The Swiss Marines have 35 active members and are an integral part of the Basel music scene.
The popular open-air concert by the Swiss Mariners and their sister corps, the Ancient Mariners from Connecticut, is finally back after more than 10 years. And it's back with new ideas, renewed energy, and a new location: the Margarethen ice rink. What remains, of course, is the good old fife & drum music and unmistakable chants—as always, in true Mariners’ style!
Tickets are CHF 48 for adults and CHF 24 for kids and youths up to age 15; free choice of seating or standing room.
