Swiss Skate Tour — Basel Inline & Rollerski Marathon

Sportstadion Grendelmatte
Saturday, 29 June

The Swiss Skate Tour organizes inline skating events in several major cities across Switzerland, and this year, they will be returning to Basel! The Swiss Skate Tour is for fun, fitness, and speed skaters—for all those who love inline skating. Be there and experience a successful mix of sport, city life, and nature!
Due to construction work in Basel on Freie Strasse, however, there will be an alternative route for the 2024 event. Starting from the Grendelmatte athletics stadium in Riehen, inline skaters and roller-ski athletes can skate a marathon or half-marathon on a fast 5.2 km circuit between Riehen and Basel, which will provide both a city feeling and the beauty of nature. There are shorter distances for younger racers (0.8 km and 9 km) and the Kids on Skates course from Rollerblade will take place before the main event. Monetary prizes of CHF 550, CHF 350, and CHF 250 will be awarded to the top three men and the top three women.
The start number must be attached to the right thigh. The timing chip must be attached to the ankle and returned immediately after crossing the finish line (to avoid an 80 CHF charge). Note that all traffic on the route will be stopped from 12:45–16:30 on skate day. Since the European Football Championship is taking place in Germany at the same time, the two round-of-16 matches will be shown live on the big screen!
Online registration is possible until June 22; cost is CHF 5-70, depending on age and race category. Late registration is possible after that, with an additional late fee of CHF 10.
