He shaped modern club music like no other and left us at the end of 2006, the hardest working man in show business, the “Godfather of Soul”—Mr. James Brown. The SoulVision Allstars—the funk protagonists of Switzerland—have since paid tribute to him at the highest level. The top-class band has long played its way into the hearts and souls of funk & soul lovers and is considered THE funk tip in Switzerland. “The great stuff will never die,” but continues to develop and also impress the next generation.
In the 50s and 60s, James Brown and his bands from The Flames to the JBs completely turned the rhythm and flavor of black dance music inside out and delivered worldwide hits with classics such as "Sex Machine" or "Cold Sweat." In passing, he created the template for countless modern R’n’B, HipHop, BigBeat, or House tracks. A crowd of established Swiss musicians around the House band of the Solothurn drummer and producer J.J. Flueck has made it their business to pay tribute to Brown with a tribute tour. Rich drum rhythms meet crisp bass lines and grooving Hammond melodies; soulful singing and edgy shouts round off the whole thing. A real firework of rhythms and emotions that lets the Godfather of Soul rise for two hours.
