The arsonists are on the loose. Disguised as poor peddlers, they nest in the attics of good citizens and burn everything down shortly afterwards. And although Gottlieb Biedermann knows this full well, he lets the arsonists into the house without resistance. What's more, in order to be spared, he cosies up to them and throws all his values and principles overboard. Max Frisch's parable about the fatal consequences of lazy negligence is the play of the hour. Director Stefan Pucher intensifies the surreal elements and stages the conflict between personal responsibility and social blindness as an appeal against cowardice, ignorance and looking the other way.
This play about a lesson without a lesson will be performed in German with English surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-80 for adults and CHF 10 for youths and students.
