When Hamlet returns home, nothing is as it once was. His father is dead, and his mother, Gertrude, has remarried to his uncle Claudius, who now rules Denmark. For Hamlet, his world is out of balance. And then his father's ghost reveals to him that his uncle poisoned him. Can this be true? With the help of a troupe of actors, Hamlet sets out to uncover the truth. Following the resounding success of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," the Basel company is once again turning its attention to one of Shakespeare's masterpieces. This time, the question is whether theater can influence a world that has suddenly and dramatically changed. The performance will take place in German with English surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-80 for adults and CHF 10 for youths and students.
