Theater — Jeanne Dark

The farmer's daughter Johanna hears heavenly voices commanding her to liberate France in the war. Initially celebrated as a visionary heroine, she is burned at the stake as a witch in 1431. To this day, the Maid of Orléans is a myth that is often appropriated. Some see her as a religious fanatic or a nationalist. Others recognize a feminist mastermind or a courageous idealist. Above all, however, she embodies the longing for a better world, which she fights for as a young woman, seemingly single-handedly. Belgian director Lies Pauwels creates her own punky, poetic world of images from numerous Johanna references. This old outrage retold will be performed in German with English surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-70.
