In her new work, Chilean director Manuela Infante deals with fire—books and heretics burnt at the stake by the Inquisition, self-immolations at protest rallies, the global burning of oil, the revolutionary sparks that ignite the spirit of the oppressed. Fire is an indispensable element of life and political imagination. In the story by Argentinian author Mariana Enriquez, women set themselves on fire to draw attention to domestic violence. They do so with terrifying composure. The promises and dangers of fire bring us to a turning point. Where is our burning world heading? This play about the burning world will be performed in German with English surtitles (except for the première on April 4).
Tickets are CHF 30-70 for adults and CHF 10 for youths and students.
