"Reception," the latest creation from Karl's kühne Gassenschau, is a moving story about letting go. It's about love, separation, and parting, and it all takes place in an open-air arena like no other.
A cheerful wedding party is stranded in a mysterious Grand Hotel in the middle of the water. The wedding planner does her best to make the day the best of the bride and groom's lives. An inscrutable receptionist and his ageless old waiter are at her side and make her life difficult—intentionally or just clumsily? And the Grand Hotel itself also seems to be pursuing its very own goals... For the proud father of the bride, it is a fateful day on which he and the guests experience more than they would like. Because suddenly the world turns upside down and everything melts away...
The enormous stage set in the middle of a large expanse of water has a few surprises in store. No one has ever swum to the end of the infinity hotel pool, and what falls into the water here reappears in an unexpected place. Nobody knows exactly what lies behind the next door and how to get off the island again.
The creative technical team at Karl's kühne Gassenschau pull out all the stops to transport the audience into an aquatic dream, where bathtubs mutate into speedboats and entire room furnishings are washed away by monster waves. Poetic, surprising, and overwhelming! “Reception” is a mixture of languages: Swiss German, High German, and Italian.
It is recommended that you travel there and back by public transport as parking is very limited. The best way to reach the "Reception" venue in Dietikon Niderfeld is by taking the Limmattal Bahn T20, getting off at the Niderfeld stop, which is right next to the venue.
