YOUNGSTAGE is a stage for the future—a format that gives young artists the chance to showcase their talent, gain experience, and take the next step in their musical career. It serves as a springboard for new voices, fresh sounds, and bold ideas.
This edition will present Redje & Jalin Arwen. Redje is a soul artist with an expressive voice and unique style. Her original compositions, driven by powerful rhythms and meticulous arrangements, create an atmosphere that is both intimate and captivating. Her authentic lyrics reveal a keen insight into human nature. She brings a soul voice that sounds like an anthem to resilience, inspired by legends such as Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, and Betty Davis.
Music has been a constant companion for Jalin Arwen her entire life. The 17-year-old singer-songwriter from the Basel region has been writing her own songs since she was age 10. She's at the beginning of her music career and hopes to release her first single soon. In her songs, she processes her own feelings and thoughts. At the same time, she wants to use her music to encourage others, showing them that they are not alone in facing their challenges. Just like her idol Ed Sheeran, Arwen wants to captivate her audience authentically with her voice and instrument. Her repertoire is complemented by a selection of cover songs in English and German.
