Station Circus once again invites you to discover the world of contemporary circus arts in Basel through a program called Zirka Zirkus. Come and discover experiments that blur the lines between circus, performance, theater, dance, music, and visual arts as well as light and media design.
Old acrobats—that doesn't exist. Because, just like in elite sports, circus artists end their stage careers at a certain age, right? “Glorious Bodies" shows that this isn't true. In this piece, six acrobats ages 57-69 are on stage. And they don't just stand there, they do crazy things, just like acrobats do, just in a slightly different way than they did 30 years ago. "Glorious Bodies" tenderly explores the bodies of artists as they change over time and the process of aging. Something that happens to all of us, even right now, at this very moment. This circus piece is performed without language.
This event takes place at the Zirkus Schule Basel, Gundeldinger Feld, Halle 8 Mitte / Querfeld Halle. The Circus Bar on site with drinks and crêpes opens 1 hour before and after the performance.
Tickets are CHF 28 for adults, CHF 18 for students, CHF 10 for children up to age 16, and CHF 5 from the third child.
