Guided Hiking Tours in English

Switzerland has about 65,000 km of marked hiking trails, including more than 1,000 km in Basel-Stadt and Baselland alone. They are generally well marked by the yellow hiking signs and other markings along the paths, allowing you to explore the country at your leisure.

But sometimes it is nice to hike with other like-minded people and learn more about the area you are passing through at the same time. The association Wanderwege beider Basel, which is in charge of maintaining the local system of hiking trails with about 50 volunteers, offers dozens such guided tours not only locally, but also in other parts of Switzerland as well as neighboring Alsace and the Black Forest in Germany. Most of these guided tours are in German, but this year, for the first time, they are offering four tours in English on April 23, May 14, June 26, and October, especially designed for expats in the Basel region. The flyer below lists all the details.
