The Parc de Wesserling is home to one of France’s largest industrial eco-museums, built according to the English “Living Museum” model. Parc de Wesserling is a truly unique destination in the heart of Alsace, just a 1-hour drive from Basel that is set on the grounds of an 18th-century textile factory. The park features a magnificent château, five remarkable historic gardens, a rural farm and its animals, and industrial heritage buildings.

The big highlight for 2026 is the “Grand Living Eco-Museum Tour,” an immersive journey through time along a 1-kilometer trail. The seven historically dramatized stops will bring the last 250 years of the estate’s textile and overall history and to life for you. At a stop taking you back to 1762, you will assist a worker in the production of Indiennes (printed fabric) at the Royal Manufactory. At the stop representing the year 1850, you will meet the factory owners in their elegant apartments in the château. In 1900, join Madame Gros’s gardeners in the four beautiful gardens, while at the stop dedicated to 1930, you will discover the animals with the farm manager. In 1965, venture into the fires and the fascinating, mysterious aromas of the large power station. In 2000, learn about the factory’s production processes and secrets in the laboratory. In 2020, marvel at the extraordinary rebirth of Wesserling Park in the turbine hall, which also houses the shop and cafeteria.

Visitors are also invited to discover their “Festival of Mixed Gardens,” which this year is inspired by the theme “The Journey of Odysseus.” Art installations and landscape design inspired by Homer are set within the gardens of the manufactory. The beautiful gardens are very popular places for strolling and events.

Entrance is € 14 for adults, € 9 for children ages 4-14, free for children under age 4, and € 38 for families with two adults and two children; save by purchasing your tickets online.
