From June to August/September each summer, Switzerland plays host to over a dozen major open-air music festivals that feature world-renowned acts of many different musical styles. The locations are superb, the atmosphere amazing, the caliber of bands impressive, and the offerings second-to-none—from food, drinks, and facilities to security and even some extras like small rides and other activities.

As these events are extremely popular, with several concerts each day included in the price of the ticket, they sell out rather quickly, especially for the well-known international stars. Note that parking is limited for most of these events, so taking the train is recommended.
