This living museum in Winterthur (about 80-90 min from Basel) lets you get carried away in the amazing world of science. The interactive exhibits invite you to touch, try, play, and understand—a true feast for all your senses. Technorama allows hands-on experiences of hundreds of natural phenomena and technology. At countless experiment stations visitors can discover natural phenomena first-hand and with all the senses. There are a number of fascinating exhibits to explore:

• “Mechanicum” will get visitors into the swing of things with gyroscopes, pendulums, and springs.
• The “Lightning Arena” offers the most high-voltage demonstration of electricity you will ever see.
• The “Current and Magnets” exhibit offers an abundance of unusual experiences with electrons and magnetic forces.
• In the inventor’s workshop, participants can become designers and build a machine using everyday materials.
• Lab 1-4/7 allows the curious to conduct their own experiments in a laboratory (under professional guidance).
• In the outdoor Technorama park, which is open from Easter to the end of October, you can experience the power of the wind, the amazing properties of sunlight, and the force of water.

Switzerland’s only science center will leave you mesmerized, no matter how old you are and no matter how much you know (or don’t) about science, art, and technology. The Technorama offers variety and inspiration for several visits, both in good and bad weather, and arouses curiosity and enthusiasm for science and technology.

There is an onsite restaurant if you need a break from all the science or need to replenish your brain’s energy stores. Additionally, there are two “Adventure Rooms”—escape rooms with a scientific and technological twist (not included in the regular entrance fee, but combi tickets are available).

They are open daily from 10:00-17:00 (except December 25). Tickets are CHF 32 for adults (CHF 3 discount for students and senior citizens), CHF 20 for kids ages 6-15, and free for kids up to age 5.
