ReRenaissance Basel — Fleuster une Chanson

As early as the 15th century, it was customary at the Burgundian court to play originally sung chansons on the recorder. With his 1533 collection “27 Chansons musicales à quatre parties,” the music printer Pierre Attaingnant continued this tradition in 1533, designating selected pieces as particularly suitable for "la fleuste à neuf trous," that is, the recorder. In contrast to the vocal chansons, this program also features the danced solo galliards—fiery leaping dances, which can also be found in Attaingnant's prints.
ReRenaissance is a globally unique concert series that focuses on music and Renaissance culture. "A Renaissance of the Renaissance," brought to life by professional musicians from Basel.
The concert is free, but there will be a collection.
