Los Capitanes Del Son is the melting pot of three experienced, professional salsa and son musicians from Basel. Their passion for Cuban music merges into a vibrant, high-energy blend of three cultures. El Director Musical Leonardo Salazar (Conga, Percussion) from Santiago de Cuba writes his own salsa songs for the repertoire and is the undisputed specialist for authentic arrangements. No wonder, since he has already performed with everyone who is anyone in professional salsa in Europe and Cuba. The organizer and guitarist-tresero, Jörg Hurter, has been playing the traditional three-string salsa guitar "Tres Cubano" for over 10 years and brings his own style from his long career in jazz, pop, and rock. He has played with various Latin greats, such as Roberto Marcano, Ludmilla Mercerón, and others. Noureddine Wenger, a trombonist with Moroccan roots, plays in all of Basel's hottest Latin projects and captivates audiences with his youthful energy and inspired playing. They are joined by various musicians from the professional son and salsa scene—prepare to be amazed!
Tickets are CHF 20 in advance and CHF 25 at the door; students receive a CHF 5 discount.
