The Gospel People

When The Gospel People tour Germany, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland on their “Believe Tour,” they take audiences on a musical journey into the heart of the United States, its Black Churches, and their joyful awakening experience. The approximately two-hour program ranges from songs from traditional “Black Gospel” to jazz- and soul-inspired gospel to the current contemporary Gospel with its rock, pop, and rap elements. It's an evening with a gripping stage performance that promises goosebumps.
The gospel troupe, led by artistic director, frontman, and arranger Owen Nixon, has no trouble captivating their audiences. In ever-changing constellations—from ensemble scenes to impressive solo performances—and paired with an energetic stage show featuring almost ecstatic dance numbers, they bring any venue to life. At some point, the audience can no longer stay on their seats, and many enthusiastically sing along. You can simply feel the passion with which the artists convey their messages. For them, gospel is not just music, but “The Good News.” The group includes Jessica Fox (alto and soprano) with her incredible voice; the truly exceptional talent of Toneisha Jones Harris (soprano), a finalist in "The Voice;" and Madyson "Symphony" McSwain (alto). Together, they particularly impress with the classic "Stand By Me." Original songs and many well-known melodies are seamlessly interwoven.
Tickets are CHF 52-72.
