With Ian Anderson—as always—taking center stage, this tour spans the seven decades during which Jethro Tull have written and performed music. Across their 23 studio albums, they have consistently pushed the boundaries of their sound. Driven by Anderson’s unique, iconic flute playing and distinctive voice, they stand as one of the most important and unmistakable bands Britain has ever produced; Anderson’s relentless drive for innovation has ensured they remain just as relevant globally today as they were in the 70s.
Announcing the concerts, Anderson said: "We’ll be playing songs from across all seven decades of Jethro Tull albums. Learning and rehearsing some of the lesser-remembered tracks from our catalog feels like reuniting with old friends after a long silence. Yes—they’ve aged, but after a few run-throughs and a couple of beers, the years simply melt away.”
Jethro Tull was formed in 1968 and released the blues-oriented album “This Was” that same year. The following year, they released “Stand Up”—a more distinctive and eclectic album that marked the beginning of the band's unique journey; they went on to gain worldwide renown for an experimental sound that shattered musical boundaries. Despite a series of lineup changes, Anderson has remained the band's focal point and driving force. He has continued to evolve their sound and live performances, propelling them to a level of global fame comparable to that of Led Zeppelin, Elton John, and the Rolling Stones. Seven decades later, they have sold over 60 million albums, boast a massive global fanbase, and have released more than 30 studio and live albums... yet much remains the same! With Anderson at the helm, the band's hunger for creativity and experimentation is as strong as ever—and continues to evolve.
