Open Classics on the Rhein — Summer Cabaret

After the enchanting summer night mood and sold-out concerts at the last three editions, the classic open-air project will be entering the next round. There will be three concerts over two days on the idyllic Rhein Inseli, which can be reached from the Rheinbrücke between the two Rheinfelden.
On this evening, Sinfonieorchester Biel Solothurn, with mezzo-soprano Florence Losseau, will be presenting works by Julien-François Zbinden (Monte-Carlo Waltz), Eric Satie (orchestral arrangement of Claude Debussy’s “Gymnopédies” 1 & 3), André Messager (“J'ai deux amants” from “L'amour Masqué”), Jara Beneš (“Benjamin, I have nothing to wear”), Gioachino Rossini (La Danza. Tarantella Napoletana), Jacques Offenbach (overture from “Die Rheinnixen”), Johann Strauss (Orlofsky’s “I like to invite guests” from “Die Fledermaus”), and Kurt Weill (“Alabama Song,” “Song of Jenny,” and “Hurricane” from “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny;” “Youkali;” and “Lost in the Stars” from “Two Worlds of Kurt Weill/New York Suite”).
There will be plenty of food and drink sales starting two hours before the concert, which will be moved inside the Bürgersaal Rheinfelden in case of bad weather.
Tickets are CHF 45-85; half price for students.
