The work “Drifting Clouds” unfolds as a 60-minute stream of sound full of subtleties and transitions. Music that begins before the first note—and resonates far beyond. Gerber, a pioneer of modern double bass music, combines classical roots with a world music breadth. His distinctive style, shaped by global influences and a spirit of technical experimentation, transforms the double bass into a narrative solo instrument—powerful, poetic, and always surprising.
