From rhythm and blues to cumbia, from Afrobeats to Balkan brass, from soul to funk; a touch of Fellini here, a hint of Celentano there, sometimes far-out rhythms, then again straightforward pump-clack—for over 30 years, the WSO Basel Workshop Orchestra has been grooving through the world's danceable music, sometimes boldly delving into popular hits, only to immediately surprise with hidden gems from a wide variety of genres. This intergenerational ensemble, consisting of six wind players, a four-piece rhythm section, and the stunning Sanja Popovic on vocals, is a true auditory delight and gets every venue moving. At Atlantis, the WSO will present its completely renewed repertoire for the first time.
